A storyteller, dreamer, and adventurer at heart, Debra crafts tales that open doors to wonder, imagination, and emotional connection. Her debut series, Finn’s Adventures, was born from friendship and fueled by a deep love of nature, creativity, and shared discovery.
Whether exploring hidden worlds or encouraging quiet bravery, Debra’s stories celebrate the magic in every child’s perspective. She lives in Mississippi, where she brings big dreams to life one page at a time.

Lily Ortiz
ILLUSTRATOR
Lily Ortiz is an illustrator with a wild imagination and a collection of sketchbooks that mysteriously end up in the most curious places. She loves to make stories pop with color, creativity, and just the right amount of glitter (metaphorically… unless you catch her on a particularly sparkly day). When she's not drawing, she's probably tucked away in a library, a paintbrush stuck in her hair, her cats around to "supervise" her work… or occasionally take a bite out of it for quality control.

Inspiring Literacy & Creativity
I have been sewing garments for myself and my daughter for many years, one day I realized there was only one family quilt in my parents house which means my kids will not have such a prized possession, that is when I knew it was up to me to provide them with one. I saw a quilt made with hearts in a magazine that I fell in love with, not knowing about modern things like rotary cutters, rulers and mats I cut out the pieces with scissors, sewed with my Bernina1090 and hand quilted, this took me a year to complete, I was hooked. I then went to a new quilt shop that was doing a mystery quilt, it sounded like fun, this one I also hand-quilted and made for my son, now 35 years later I have more quilts than a person can use, my favorite quilts are scrappy ones.
